Third Annual State of the Art at Tlaquepaque Celebrating Art and All that Jazz

Sedona, Arizona Plan your September get-away to Sedona and enjoy fabulous hot jazz and cool art at Tlaquepaque, the Art and Soul of Sedona. The Third Annual State of the Art takes place Friday night, September 26th, 5 pm to 8 pm and all day Saturday, September 27th, 10 am to 8 pm. Designed for the new art collector and the seasoned connoisseur, a veritable banquet of sumptuous art will delight and amaze.

Celebrating Art and All That Jazz is this year’s theme, and the typically-sold-out State of the Art perfectly compliments the Sedona Jazz Festival… happening the same weekend. The beautiful Spanish-style courtyards at Tlaquepaque will pulsate with the sweet sounds of jazz, blues and fusion vibes.

Friday night and all day Saturday, as a delightful accompaniment to the abundant feast within Tlaquepaque’s art galleries, enjoy The David Mills Trio; Bob Murnahan Quartet, fusion and blues; Steven Sandner/Jeanie Carroll duo; and Musette, a gypsy jazz trio, to name a few. Join us at 6:30pm and 7:30pm both evenings for the spectacular Fyrae Fire Dancers performing on the Calle Independencia.

Special event art shows, demonstrations and one-on-one time with national award-winning artists—are exclusively available for Sate of the Art attendees.

Samples of featured gallery shows include: “Timeless Treasures” at Mountain Trails Gallery, with award-winning still life artist Lisa Danielle, painting photo-realism portraits of ancient southwestern pottery; Isadora’s "Art To Wear!" with Candace Cole and other local and national award-winning fiber artists and jewelers; Inner Eye Gallery’s "GOURD-eous Designs", hand-painted and embellished decorative gourd art by Dian Gibson; El Prado Gallery by the Creek’s "Visual Jazz", exploring the visual improvisations where every movement of the artist's hand creates a melody heard only between artist and viewer—featuring Mike Medow and Mary Kuder; Renee Taylor Gallery’s “Lustre”: exploring how together, light and metal create color and brilliance; Verdigris Gallery presents “Passion Fire - A Sensual Dance of Symbolism, Golds and Texture”, with Sedona Artist Erin Lofton; Kuivato Glass Gallery features Stephen Garnter and Danielle Blade in" Natural Elements" Interpretations in Glass; and TC Gallery, featuring US Olympic Artist, Euripides "Rip" Kastaris and his "Olympic Fire in the Red Rocks" and "Victory Horses" commissioned by the United States Olympic Committee.
